Finn Harps can’t wait to host Celtic legends

There has always been a huge fan base for Celtic in Donegal

This coming Friday night, 13th August, Finn Park will play host to a real family occasion when Finn Harps play host to a Celtic Legends team captained by Tommy Boyd.
 
The Harps legends Team who are still unbeaten after high profile matches against Liverpool and Man United will hope to continue that impressive record against the Bhoys from Glasgow.
 
Boyd who made a total of 303 appearances for Celtic enjoyed a much decorated career in the famous Hoops picking up winning 3 Scottish Titles, 3 Scottish Cups and 3 League Cups.

Letterkenny Hospital protest – Unite for the common good

Donegal Mayor Cora Harvey has paid tribute to the thousands of people who took to the streets to protest against the proposed cuts to the health service in Donegal. The Sinn Féin councillor who addressed the crowd said that the huge rally had ‘united for a common good’.

Mayor Harvey said: “Saturday was a good day for Donegal, the people united for a common good.  We have united to protect the welfare of our Health Service for all our citizens, young and old and I commend everyone for turning out to show support for Donegal Health Care. Read more

Higgins condems Taliban executions

Michael D Higgins TD, Labour Party President and Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs, today condemned the execution last Friday of 8 foreign and 2 Afghan aid workers from the aid group International Assistance Mission in Badakshan province of Afghanistan.

He said, “The execution for proselytising by the Taliban of such selfless aid workers who were bringing eye care and medical attention to communities in remote villages of Afghanistan is abhorrent and must be condemned in no uncertain terms. Read more
