Gardaí in Newcastlewest, Co. Limerick are investigating the deaths of four people.
The bodies of the four people – two children (a 3 year old male and a 5 month old female) and two women in their 20′s – were discovered in Hazel Grove Estate, Gortboy Newcastle West shortly after 1.35 p.m. today. Read more

Fund announces £12m/€14.4m to a wide variety of pioneering initiatives to promote sharing and integration in Northern Ireland and the southern border counties
The International Fund for Ireland has announced £12m/€14.4m to support a wide range of pioneering community relations initiatives in shared education, youth work, community development and re-imaging.
The Fund continues to support projects designed to encourage contact, dialogue and reconciliation between Unionists and Nationalists throughout Ireland.
The announcement was made following the Fund’s recent Board meeting which took place in County Antrim. Read more
Triumphant Rovers return to paint town red
THOUSANDS OF fans welcomed Sligo Rovers home last night after their FAI Ford Cup final victory over Shamrock Rovers.
Bonfires lit the way from the county boundary after Boyle in Co Roscommon right to the edge of Sligo town where the team switched to an open-top bus for the final stages of their welcome home.
Liam Conlon from Ballisodare said: “Sligo rarely gets a chance to welcome sporting heroes home from a big occasion. This is unbelievable. The team thoroughly deserve all the cheers we can give them.” Read more

Ireland’s first dedicated weather news and long range forecast website, Irish Weather Online has been launched.
The independently run website has already been profiled on The Weather Channel in the US since it went live last week.
Described as a website by weather enthusiasts for weather enthusiasts, the site features a daily long range weather forecast from climatologist Peter O’Donnell, the latest news relating to the weather and climate in Ireland, and weather related video and imagery. Read more

Launching its latest workplace salt awareness campaign, safefood is reminding consumers to check food labels and choose lower salt options where possible, as the majority of dietary salt is from processed foods such as processed meats, sauces and bread. New Garda mobile safety cameras now operational
From midnight last night, new Garda mobile safety cameras became operational on roads across Ireland. The safety cameras will save lives through a reduction in fatal and serious speed related collisions.
In the North West Donegal has 63 sites, the largest number in the country. Sligo has just six sites while Leitrim has eight.
Gardaí have issued the following advice to motorists: Slow down. Save a life. It could be yours. Excessive or inappropriate speeding is a major factor in road traffic collisions.
German Travel Agents Say Donegal is ‘Wunderbar’

Ten influential travel agents from Germany were in Donegal over the weekend, as part of a fact-finding trip. They were here to experience at first-hand the superb holiday product on offer in this part of Ireland and, in particular, the wonderful B&Bs which hold such a strong appeal for German holidaymakers.
Their visit, which was organised by Tourism Ireland in Frankfurt in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland included a guided tour of Sliabh League as well as a fun bodhrán lesson at the Oideas Gael centre in Glencolmcille, where they met with Liam Ó Cuinneagáin.
