Time for Ryanair to call a ceasefire

The announcement by Michael O’Leary CEO of Ryanair that he will cut 48 flights at Dublin Airport from January 2011 is most disappointing, Labour party’s  Transport spokesman Joe Costello has said.

This follows on Ryanair surrendering the P.S.O at Kerry Airport on the 13th of November 2010 and the reduction of daily flights from Kerry to Dublin from three to one.

Previously Ryanair made cutbacks on its Shannon services. Previous to that again we had the debacle over Hanger 6 at Dublin Airport and the transfer of maintenance services to Scotland. Read more

Doherty not complacent over Red C poll

Reacting to the Red C poll, Senator Doherty insisted the election campaign is far from over.

He commented: “This is only a poll and, it isn’t an election and I certainly won’t be getting carried away with these figures.

Irish children want to vote from age 16

An all-Ireland children’s conference this week has heard calls for the voting age to be dropped to 16.
100 young people from primary and secondary schools around the country attended the consultation organised by the Children’s Rights Alliance and the Irish Secondary School Students Union. Read more
