Search for missing Sligo teen

Gardaí have issued a missing person’s appeal for a missing Sligo teen. 17-year-old Michael Glynn from Geldof Drive, Cranmore in Sligo, was last seen at midday last Wednesday.

Michael is 5 foot 6 inches in height, with a slight build, blue eyes and short dark brown hair.

When last seen he was wearing a blue and white jacket, black tracksuit bottoms, brown boots and a white cap.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sligo Garda Station on 071 – 9157000.

Lory Meagher Cup for Donegal hurlers

Donegal’s Ciaran Mathewson scored a dying last-minute gasp goal to win the Lory Meagher Cup for Donegal at Croke Park yesterday, avenging defeats at the final stage of the previous two years.

Donegal having lost the last two finals looked set to a repeat performance, but Mathewson got his second goal of the afternoon, and the fate was sealed for the NHL Division Four champions. Read more

Irish Agriculture must not suffer due to German E Coli outbreak

Donegal based Fianna Fáil Seanad Spokesperson on Agriculture, Marine & Food, Brian Ó Domhnaill is supporting the position of the Irish Farmers Association (IFA) and is calling on the Government and the Public Health Agencies to reassure Irish consumers of the safety of produce on our shelves.

Speaking today Senator Ó Domhnaill said ” The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) and other public health agencies have confirmed that the German E Coli outbreak is not in any way an issue for Irish produce.” Read more
