Alcohol seized – Being gathered for underage disco

PSNI recover alcohol that was planned to take or consume at underage disco
Enniskillen police have seized alcohol they believe was being gathered for young people travelling to an underage disco.
Sixteen cans of cider and a bottle of spirits were found by police at a car park at Derrychara Road where young people were gathering to travel to the out-of-town-function.
Inspector Roy Robinson, the sector commander, said the seizure was part of a police strategy to target the illegal consumption of alcohol.
“We made a big seizure a few weeks ago and we are determined to keep this initiative going. I have no doubt that the alcohol we seized on Wednesday evening would have been consumed by young people travelling by bus to the disco.
“In addition, we also stopped a 16-year-old who was in possession of alcohol and took him home. We will also be reporting a 21-year-old man to the PPS on suspicion of supplying alcohol to minors.
“We have made our position clear on the consumption of alcohol by under 18s. We believe that it may lead them to the kind of behaviour and trouble they would normally avoid.
“I now that a lot of people in and around Enniskillen share our concern about the use of alcohol. I would ask them to continue to tell us when they see it happening, or when they suspect that alcohol is being supplied to minors.”
