Letterkenny General Hospital asks for Aids and Appliances to be Returned

Letterkenny General Hospital
Letterkenny General Hospital is asking anyone who has received wheelchairs or oxygen cylinders from the Hospital, that are no longer needed or in use, to please return the appliances to the Hospital.
The aids and appliances should be returned to Terry Mc Donnell or Liam Price, Head Porters at Letterkenny General Hospital, and the hospital can organise to have the wheelchairs or cylinders collected if transport is not available.
Any returned wheelchairs and oxygen cylinders will be de-contaminated and can then be re-used for other patients at Letterkenny General.
Paddy Rooney, Assistant General Manager, Letterkenny General Hospital, says: We would really appreciate if people who have aids and appliances such as wheelchairs or oxygen cylinders that are no longer being used to return them to us. A new wheelchair can cost €500, so it is important that they are returned to the hospital as they can be re-used after they are de-contaminated, making them safe to use again for other patients who will need them.
Mr Rooney adds: We don’t like to see these valuable appliances going to waste, so rather than being left sitting unused in people’s homes, we would encourage people to either return them directly to the Head Porters, Terry McDonnell or Liam Price, or contact the hospital on 074 – 91 – 25888 and we can make the necessary transport arrangements.
