Sligo Rovers get draw in Morton Stadium

Sligo Rovers v Sporting Fingal
Padraig Amond’s equaliser for Rovers ensured that the pains of last November were not repeated against Sporting Fingal at the weekend.
After a tough first-half when Stephen Paisley’s header off the post was the nearest SF came to scoring, O’Neill went by Alan Keane on the edge of the box on 52 minutes before tucking a shot into the far corner.
But hesitancy by Paisley soon after allowed Amond to dispossess the Fingal skipper and angle a low shot past Brendan Clarke.
Neither side deserved the full points but Fingal should have converted territorial dominance with more efforts on goal.
Sligo boss Paul Cook, kept faith with the same team that earned a well-deserved point against Shamrock Rovers at the Showgrounds last week before 3,000 supporters.
Two draws from their first two games for Sligo Rovers.
