Donegal lose for the 2nd week running

John Clarke and substitute Peter Fitzpatrick were on form last night as the Mourne county maintained their 100% record at the top of Allianz NFL Division 2 after defeating Donegal last night in MacCumhaill Park, Ballybofey.
After a poor quality first half, Down’s attack moved up a gear during an improved second half effort from the visitors, played under the Ballybofey lights.
Helped by two Michael Murphy points, Donegal had gone into the break with a 0-05 to 0-04 half-time lead.
But Down replied with Kevin McKernan, Martin Clarke and the thorn for any opposition Benny Coulter putting them ahead.
While Colm McFadden and Anthony Thompson brought the home side level at 0-11 apiece, Down produced the bigger effort at the end to earn their deserved third league win.
As an appetisier for their summer clash in the championship, the Tirchonaill lads now know exactly what is ahead of them, if they are to progress in Ulster 2010.
