Race towards GAA provincial finals hots up

 Munster are the first to line up their GAA provincial senior football final pairing with Kerry and Limerick booked in for a July 4 date. Next weekend, Ulster and Connacht feature the first of their semi-finals while Leinster stage a quarterfinal replay to decide who plays Dublin in the semi-finals on Sunday week.

Leitrim GAA player critical after pitch injury

A Leitrim footballer remains in a critical condition after what has been described as a “freak accident” occurred during a league match betweeen Mohill and Melvin Gaels. 26-year-old Philip McGuinness, known as ‘Philly’ was initially taken to Sligo General Hospital on Saturday evening, but is now critically ill at Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital.
