Donegal’s GAA victors are ‘Down’ and out
The precarious nature of Ulster Championship football came into sharp focus yesterday afternoon, as the short lived honeymoon for Down, after their victory agaisnt Donegal in the Ulster Chmpionship came to an abrupt end.
Tyrone qualified for yet another Ulster final after the defeated the Mourne men in the Ulster semi final 0-14 to 0-10 at Casement Park.
At the interval Tyrone were leading 0-1- to 0-08, Down having earlier gone four points ahead in the first half.
Stephen O’Neill limped off early in the game but is expected to be back for an Ulster final meeting with either Fermanagh or Monaghan.
Elsewhere Meath finally got over a battling Laois side that had taken them to a third game in the Leinster championship.
