GAA: Dr McKenna Cup update: Donegal v Tyrone
The much anticipated Dr McKenna Cup game between Donegal and Tyrone will be played in Healy Park, Omagh at 4pm this afternoon, subject to a lunch time pitch inspection.
Freezing weather has again played havoc with the fixture list which has been dogged with cancellations since the New Year because of the prolonged spate of bad weather in the country over the past two months.
Tyrone manager Mickey Harte is expected to be present, in a week that has turned his family life upside down, with the tragic murder of his only daughter Michaela on a Mauritius honeymoon with her newly wedded husband, John McAreavey.
It is not expected that the Tyrone man will have a big input into the game, but it will be a highly charged emotional day for both teams and set of supporters, who border each other.
Following pitch inspections on Saturday, Brewster Park and Pairc Esler were both been deemed unplayable.
With the agreement of all teams, the Fear Manach v UUJ game has been rescheduled for today at Kingspan Breffni Park 3G pitch at 4.00pm, while the An Dún v St Marys game has been moved to today at 2.00pm in Pairc Esler. Last night Cavan defeated QUB 0-12 to 1- 4.
