Finn Harps got little joy on their trip down south when First Division leaders Waterford United got back to winning ways thanks to George o’Callaghan’s dead ball deliveries.Topscorer Vinny Sullivan put Blues in front on 21 minutes. Recent signing O’Callaghan, on his first start, whipped a free-kick into the box which wasn’t dealt with.
Sullivan initially miscontrolled the ball but recovered to shoot past Liam Mailey.
Another brilliantly paced free-kick from O’Callaghan brought Blues’ second goal on 49 minutes as defender Kevin Murray’s bullet header flew to the net.
Harps had midfielder Michael Funston sent off in stoppage time. |
