Fine Gael Senator for Sligo/North Leitrim, Imelda Henry, has today (Thursday) welcomed the announcement that a storm sewer will be constructed in the lower part of Pearse Road as part of the Water Services Investment Programme, at a cost of €1.14 million.
“I am delighted with today’s announcement which will greatly benefit the water system in Sligo, by improving the quality and increasing the pressure of water in the Pearse Road area. It will also ensure that discharge into our rivers, lakes and coastal waters, meets the highest international standards.
“In addition, this construction project will create some much needed employment in the town and I urge the County Council to complete the tender process of this project as soon as possible, so that construction can begin.”
