Irish end season with famous victory over South Africa

IRFU Irish Rugby Football Union
The Irish Rugby team completed a remarkable end of season 2009, when they defeat the Tri Nations and World Cup champions South Africa 16-10.
The November Guinness series saw Ireland draw with Australia, win comfortably against Fiji and now round off a truly memorable year for Irish rugby with victory over the Springbok.
They now remain undefeated in 2009, after winning the Northern hemisphere Six Nations Grand Slam for the first time in 61 years.
Ironically, moments after the game South Africa were awarded Team of the Year by the IRB (International Rugby Board).
However some justice followed moments afterwards when Irish coach Declan Kidney was awarded Coach of the Year.
And once again captain Brian O’Driscoll showed that he is one of the greatest rugby players of his generation with another battling performance.
Jonathan Sexton who replaced Ronan O’Gara at outhalf proved that his outing against Fiji last weekend at the RDS was no flash in the pan.
