Meeting confirms beginning of aviation preclearance facilities for US bound aircraft departing Terminal 2 in Dublin Airport from early next year
The Irish Minister for Transport Mr Noel Dempsey T.D. today welcomed Ms Janet Napolitano, U.S. Secretary for Homeland Security on her visit to view the new US preclearance facilities at Terminal Two in Dublin Airport.
The new preclearance facilities at Dublin airport are due to begin clearing US bound passengers early next year. These facilities will allow US bound passengers to clear all U.S. entry controls before they leave Dublin airport. Currently only US immigration clearance facilities are available at Dublin airport.
From early next year all pre cleared U.S. bound passengers will face no further entry processes when they reach the United States and will be treated as if their flight had originated at a U.S. domestic airport. Read more
