Harte joins British Irish Parliamentary Assembly

Donegal North East based, Senator Jimmy Harte has been selected as a member of the British Irish Parliamentary Assembly. He thanked the party for appointing him to the Assembly.

He told IrishDigest.com: “It is important that we build on the strong relationships that we have with the UK.

“I also look forward to working with Deputy Joe Mc Hugh TD, co chair of the Assembly, and we will be working to promote the North West to develop beneficial relationships with the other regions in the UK.”

Labour party leader Eamonn Gilmore has welcomed politocal heavyweight Cllr Jimmy Harte as the latest member of the Labour party in Donegal. This means that they now have three councillors on Donegal County Council.

Mr Gilmore announced: “I am very pleased to be able to announce this morning that the Independent member of Donegal County Council, Jimmy Harte, has joined the Labour Party.
