Sligo County Board last night ratified three football managers at one meeting. Anthony Brennan, Tourlestrane, will be the County’s u21 manager while Tommy Breheny, St.Mary’s will take charge of the minor squad. Kevin Walsh was reaffirmed as Sligo’s Senior Manager for the 2011-2012 season.
County Board Chairman Cyril Feehily thanked the interview panel who worked on the u21 and Minor vacancies and expressed his gratitude to the Club representatives for their unanimous endorsement of the three Bainisteoirí.
“This County Board has put a strong Management team in place at all grades” said the Chairman.
He stated that it was the executive’s desire to have the Managerial appointments agreed in plenty of time to give them ample opportunity to plan their campaigns and assess the talent available to them. “The lack of success in the Minor and u21 grades has to be addressed and I hope that these appointments and their timing will go some way towards achieving better results” said the Chairman.
He said that he was confident that a fully fit Senior panel, with the guidance of Kevin Walsh, would make up the ground lost in 2010 and regain their form for the challenges ahead.
