Naomh Conaill are through to Ulster Club semi final

Ulster GAA Club Championship First round

Naomh Conaill 2-12

Clonibret 0-9

A GOAL from Leon Thompson midway through the second half put Naomh Conaill through to their first ever club semi-final against a disappointing Clontibret in Ballybofey yesterday. They now meet Coalisland of Tyrone in the semis.

The Donegal side were slow out of the blocks but were denied three goals in the opening half, one of them from the penalty spot, with Paul McElroy saving from Anthony Thompson.

A late scoring burst saw them lead 0-7 to 0-5 at the break and they doubled that lead within a minute of the restart. Read more

Killybegs                                 0-08

Naomh Conall of Glenties are the 2010 Donegal GAA senior football champions after an impressive ten point victory over Killybegs in MacCumhaill Park, Ballybofey on Sunday afternoon.

The victory made up for last year’s defeat against St. Eunan’s and has firmly put the Glenties club at the top of the Donegal GAA ladder.

In a tight knit senior reserve final, Four Masters emerged triumphant after a one point victory over Gweedore.

In the senior decider the Glenties men won the county senior title with relative ease. Leo McLoone, in a man of the match performance, helped them forge into a five point lead at the interval 0-8 to 0-3. Read more

A directive has come from Croke Park re the U12s for the coming year. They have issued the information to the County last week that the U12s next year will be run on a Go Games Blitze type.

This information was given to all Clubs at the Southern Board AGM last Friday to bring back to their Clubs for discussion.

The Board will then meet with all Clubs re the matter whether to go with this directive or not. There is a meeting scheduled for this and that will be held on Thursday 7th January in Ardara and all Clubs are asked to attend with their ideas on this.

This is a very important aspect of our Underage and all Managers working with their U12 teams next year are asked to study this document over the coming weeks before the Southern Board meeting on the 7th January.

The U12 Go Games will be the only matter on the Agenda.
